چکیده

A number of models are being developed for the traffic, service and queuing in the emerging telecommunication networks. The task is rather difficult because the traffic is bursty and correlated. These models include the compound Poisson process (CPP), the Markov modulated Poisson process (MMPP) and self-similar traffic models such as the Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM). The CPP and the ∑K k=1 CPPk traffic models often give a good representation of the burstiness (batch size distribution) of the traffic from one or more sources, but not the auto-correlations of the inter-arrival time observed in real traffic. Conversely, the MMPP models can capture the auto-correlations but not the burstiness. Self-similar traffic models such as the FBM can represent both burstiness and auto-correlations, but they are analytically intractable in a queuing context. The traffic arriving to a node

Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....

Generalized QBD Processes, Spectral Expansion and Performance Modeling Applications

This paper suggests new queuing models, in the Markovian framework, which can tackle the presence of burstiness in the traffic and autocorrelations among the inter-arrival times of packets in the performance evaluation of next generation networks. These models are essentially based on certain generalizations of the Quasi Birth-Death (QBD) processes. Efficient steady state solution of these new ...

Modeling of Network Traffic Student : Aditya Dua ( 97 D 07003 ) Guide

Traffic models are at the heart of any performance evaluation of telecommunication networks. An accurate estimation of network performance is critical for the success of broadband networks, which need to guarantee acceptable quality of service (QoS) to the users. A good traffic model should be accurate enough to capture the statistical characteristics of actual traffic, and at the same time sho...

Performance Analysis for Data Service in Mobile Telecommunication Networks

Wireless networks are becoming more and more popular and traffic over the networks is growing rapidly. Because the network infrastructure is expanding at a quick pace, especially the wireless Internet growth , both in size and in the types of applications, the performance issue and dimensioning issue of networks are becoming more critical. New wireless data applications are emerging over mobile...

Performance Analysis for Data Service in Third Generation Mobile Telecommunication Networks

The data traffic in wireless networks for the third generation (3G) mobile telecommunication systems should take into account a variety of services (voice, data, video) and environments (e.g.: private, outdoors, indoors) as well as the user mobility behavior. A good evaluation of measures of performance can help a system designer to make its strategic decisions concerning cell size and the numb...
